but I'm not going to post pictures here because it's a present--and I'm not going to post it on my store, because it was made for a specific person.  For example, I have recently made two pairs of hairsticks for one of my friends: one of them using steampunk gears, the other using small fish beads. Beads, fabric, paper, ink, language itself—I use every medium that I can get my hands on. Why do I create. It is something that I’ve always done, even when I was a little girl making clothes for my dolls and creating elaborate landscapes in the backyard mud. The skirts and scarves that I create have a history sewn in each seam I always create. These items are custom orders for friends.  I didn't take pictures of either of them....

If dancing is your thing, you can choose from square dancing from 8 p. m. to 10 p. m. at 76th and Main Streets or a family street dance from 7 p. m. to 11 p. m. at 77th and Main Streets. Enjoy free live music at Independence Square from 11:15 a. m. – 12:15 p. m. The big 51st Annual Independence Day Parade starts at 1 p. m. at 80th & Highland Streets and ends at 75th & Main Streets. The pie baking contest judging will be at 4:30 (pies must be at the park by 4 p. m. ), from 5:30 p. m. to 7:30 p. m. enjoy a picnic, music, children's games and a pie and ice cream social. Monday starts off early with the Ralston Independence Day fun run/walk at 7:50 a. m. at Independence Square, 77th and Main Streets. Sunday's schedule of events starts in Ralston Park, 80th Street and Park Drive. A children's parade, for kids sixth grade and under, will line-up 9:30 a. m. Parade starts at 10 a. m. at 5500 Miller Ave.
